Review: Fogal Catwalk tights revisited

I have a habit of buying two pairs of the same style but only unbox one.  Thus over the years, I have accumulated quite a few pairs unopened, and are not available on the shelves anymore.  I’d like to have a look into some of them before I go into hibernation.

The Catwalk tights was actually one of my earliest reviews.  A lot has changed for the Brand since, including moving their production line to Italy.  As this “Made in Switzerland” item is rare, I’d present it as a picture review while highlight its features.

Strengths & Weaknesses

⊕ Superb quality; very comfortable to wear.
⊕ Very elastic thanks to high elastane content.

⊗ Size run small.

Packaging & product description

A quick unboxing video reveals how exceptional quality these tights were made:

Material used for packaging.

Appearance & texture

Fogal Catwalk tights (sourced from Fogal).

A closer examination of the panty shows a different type of knitting (compared to the hose) is used.  It has thus a boxer brief appearance.  Having said that, it is hardly noticeable as it is still ultra-sheer (10 denier).

The waistband is an elastic band with plush on the inner side.  Fogal uses colour-coded threads to indicate sizing.

The length of the panty isn’t particularly long.

      The hose underwent boarding.

Impression

FIT

The total length of the tights in size L is approximately 72cm long.  Even with high amount of elastane (40%), I don’t believe it can fit up to 185cm as the size chart suggested.

The toe section is lightly reinforced.

LOOK

The tights exhibit reflective sheen under hard light, and matt in soft light:

It is sheer-to-waist.  The matt and ultra-sheer characteristic makes the tights almost invisible.

FEEL

The texture is silky smooth to the touch, with great elasticity.

Final words

The previous generation of Catwalk tights (made in Switzerland) is an exceptional piece of art.  If you are able to find them, be sure to grab it!
