Review: XEXYMIX Yoga Socks

I have been doing aerial arts for a while and one problem I often face is the unstableness as my feet perspire.  So I wanted a pair of socks that can absorb moisture while not compromising safety.  I found these in a local shop and decided to give it a try.

XEXYMIX is a Korean company that specialises in athleisure.  Their products are very popular in Korea and Taiwan.  My partner has a few tops and leggings from the Brand.  Generally, their active wear is made in Korea.  Their socks however, are made in China.

The Brand has two styles for toeless, anti-slip yoga socks.  One with a “X” stripe sewn on the round opening, on the dorsal part of the foot, and the other without.  It is the latter that we will dive into today.

Strengths & Weaknesses

⊕ Provides good grip even on slippery surfaces.

⊙ Relatively comfy to wear.

Packaging & product description

I have made a short clip for the unboxing:

In brief, a foot-shaped cardboard is used to keep the socks in place.  It is then partially covered using another cardboard.  A semi-translucent sleeve is used for the outer layer.

Materials used for packaging.

Appearance & texture

The Yoga Socks are opaque and matt in nature.  The total length of the socks is around 15.5cm long.  The texture is smooth and cottony to the touch.  There is an opening at the dorsal part of the foot.  The sole is characterised with an “X” logo and dots made of silicon.  The cuff is 1.5cm wide and the circumference is approximately 14cm.

The composition is 80% polyester and 20% cotton.

Size range

The style is one size only.  The official measurement is 14.5cm long and 9cm wide.

Colour

At the time of writing this review, 21 colours are available for the style from the official website.  The colour I bought for this review is Green (a.k.a. Melange Military Green).

Impression

FIT

Given the look and measurements, I was first dubious about the fitting.  But somehow it managed, implying how stretchy the materials are.  For reference, my foot is 25.5cm long and the ball of the foot is around 10cm wide.  The envelopment was very good, as the fabric is stretched virtually to its maximum.

I had no issues with the cuff opening.  But, I do wish the opening for the toes, especially the thumb toe, are made wider.

LOOK

      The appearance is pretty plain.

I have made a video showing my climb up the silks.  The non-slip function worked perfectly:

Quality wise, I have been wearing it for the last couple sessions and didn’t notice any issues.  It would be interesting to see how long these socks will last.  I will update the review in due course.

FEEL

Although mainly with polyester, the socks are pretty smooth and cottony on the feet.  For sizing, I’d say it would be more comfy if my feet are 1-2cm shorter.

The socks is pretty breathable, given the toes are not covered and a large opening on the dorsal part of the feet.

Final words

I bought the socks for their functionality and so far they are doing well.

The Yoga Socks are priced at USD$12 or NZD$16.  You can find more info from the link below:
