Many many years ago, I tried a pair of stay-ups. The fit wasn’t good, may be due to the inverted pear shape of my thigh, the small sizing or both. So I had an idea of wearing stockings. The idea has never been executed until now, when I bought my first pair of stockings and belts – the Lace Stockings and the Stretch Lace Stocking Belt from Wolford.
For ease of reading, this review will focus on the stockings first. This will be followed by the belt, and then the overall impression of both.

Lace Stockings
Packaging & product description
The packaging uses the standard cardboard, tri-fold cardboard and transparent plastic sleeve manner. All relevant information regarding the product are printed on the back cover. You will also a close shot of the lace cuff on the back cover.
The product description online and on the back of the packaging are the same, which reads:
“Luxurious and elegant: These fine stockings embrace the leg with their soft translucence and end with a wonderfully wide cuff made from elegant, stretchy lace.”

Appearance & texture
The Lace Stockings are sheer (15 denier appearance) with a matte appearance. The total length of the stocking is approximately 68cm long when laid on a flat surface. The texture of the hose is relatively soft, and smooth to the touch. The lace-patterned cuff has a semi-transparent look. It measures 16cm wide. The circumference of the opening is approximately 36cm long when laid on a flat surface. There is a seam on the rear of the cuff. The cuff is soft but rather rough. In addition, the toe section is lightly reinforced.
The composition is 88% polyamide and 12% elastane.

Size range
There are 4 sizes for the stockings, ranging from XS to L. I have included the size chart below. Size S is used for this review.
Colour
Originally, there were 4 colour combinations available: Gobi/Lipstick, Black/Black, Gobi/Black and Gobi/White. Now it would subject to availability. I have bought Gobi/Black for this review.
Stretch Lace Stocking Belt
Packaging & product description
The packaging method is identical to Wolford Viscool Leggings I reviewed earlier. In brief, it uses a cardboard box that uses a draw mechanism. Once opened, you will find the product wrapped in a thin sheet of paper.
The product description online and on the back of the packaging are pretty much the same. I have extracted it below:
“Discreet, feminine and elegant: This stocking belt combines attractive stretchy lace with elegant tulle. The straps on the belt are adjustable for perfect comfort and the belt fastens at the back with three hooks. Delicate and light under summery skirts an”
Appearance & texture
The belt is primarily made of lace fabrics. It has a shape of an inverted triangle, with the base attached to the elastic waistband. The texture is soft but not particularly smooth to the touch. The straps (four in total) run vertically through the centre of the triangle. Its length is adjustable. The clips on the very end of the straps are made of metal on one side, and silicon on the other. The belt is fastened using hooks like we see on the back of a bra. There are three sets of rings, allowing finer adjustment to the size. The tag and wash labels are sewn on the rear, inner side of the belt. In addition, there is a small, decorative bow on the front centre of the belt.
The composition of the lace is 78% nylon and 22% elastane.
Size range
The size ranges from XS to XL. I have included the size chart below. Size S is used in this review.
Colour
Originally, there were three choices of colour selection: Black, White and Lipstick, of which is a bright red colour. I have bought the Black for this review.
Impression
GETTING IT ON
It was my first attempt on the stockings so it did take me some time to figure out how to wear them. I found it was easier to clip on the rear side of the stockings first before putting them on. If you have better ideas, please do share with me in the comments below.
FIT
The fit for the stockings was pretty good. The cuff sat roughly on the mid thigh. There was also a good envelopment, with the stockings lightly hug the legs. The fit for the belt was very good, thanks to the multi sets of rings. However, the stockings keep dragging the belts downwards. I didn’t make any adjustments to the length of the straps though. It may be more comfortable if I did so.
LOOK
I have to say, it look absolutely amazing and feminine. I really like the nude colour on the legs and black on the cuff and belt. The lace was high-quality made. The Black colour nature of the belt also meant it matches easily with other styles. The colour was evenly distributed on the hose. In addition, there is a tiny little reflective shine if you look closely.
The tag on the back of the belt has only one stitch, hence it moved around easily. Not only it was annoying, but had a bad look.
FEEL
The hose felt soft and relatively smooth to the skin. However, the lace cuff was a bit itchy to my skin. Interestingly, the lace belt was fine. Both the stockings and the belt had good breathability.
Final words
With its high quality and great look, I have to give a thumbs up for the style. The black colour belt makes it a popular match with other styles as well. I am certainly interested to find more stockings for review.
The Stretch Lace Stocking Belt is originally priced at £85, €95 or USD150. Now it is in Wolford Outlet for £25.50, €28.50 or USD75. The Lace Stockings are priced £43 but is also reduced in price.
