It’s been quite a while since I did a review on leggings. The main reason being leggings has evolved to become active wear in recent years. However, there are still brands that make leggings for comfort. And that’s what we will be examining this time.

FALKE uses a piece of cardboard that partially covers the item. There are pros and cons regarding this method. The good side is that it saves a few cents (at least for the company) and is environmentally friendly. One can also get a feel of the material without hassle. The bad side is that items are prone to damage. Thus it is important to examine the item for defects if you are buying in a physical shop.
There is no product description on the packaging, which is conceivable given the space available. The description online reads:
“Luxurious transparency gives attractive legs a naturally beautiful look thanks to a matt effect. Experience outstanding comfort thanks to the wide, fluffy cuffs. 3D knitting technology means that every stitch is perfectly even and luxurious. Appearance & texture
The Matt Deluxe 30 is semi-sheer (30 denier appearance) leggings in matt fashion. The total length of the leggings in size M/L measures 82cm long. The texture is soft and smooth, with a tint of synthetic fibre to the touch. The knitted waistband measures 4cm wide. The distance between the tip of the waistband and the crotch is around 21cm. The cuff is 3cm wide and the circumference is 17cm. There is a hygienic gusset, an iconic of FALKE.
The composition is 86% polyamide and 14% elastane.
Size range
There are six sizes for this style, ranging from S to XL. I have included the size chart below. Size M/L is used for this review.
Colour
At the time of writing this review, there are three colours available on the official online shop. They are: Powder, Marine and Black. I bought Marine for this review.
Impression
FIT
The fit was very good and true to size. There was also a good envelopment both on the panty and on the legs. The cuff sat nicely just above the ankle. It didn’t leave any marking even wearing it for all day. In addition, I had no issues with the waistband.
LOOK
The appearance is total matt regardless of lighting. It is the equivalent of Wolford’s Individual range or Fogal’s Catwalk.
The leggings did form wrinkles around the knees after wearing it for quite a while.
Although only partially covered, I didn’t find any snags or defects during unboxing.
There is a marking, which runs from waistband to cuff. I believe it is a result of boarding. I washed the item once, and the marking didn’t fade.
FEEL
The leggings felt soft and smooth. There was a tint of synthetic fibre to the feel. But overall, it was pretty comfortable to wear.
As I mentioned before, the cuff didn’t leave any marks on me. Yet it is quite tensive. It may not be that comfy for people with bigger circumference just above the ankle.
Though only 30 denier, my legs felt warm on a cool early spring day. This suggests the material traps heat quite well.
Final words
The leggings are very comfy to wear. The marking is a nuisance though. Going for the nude colour may eliminate the issue.
