Thank you all for continue visiting and supporting ilovehosiery. It has been hectic since I came back from Europe and although I had opportunity to try on new pair of tights, I haven’t really had the time to take photos and put my experiences into words. This is especially the case when I happen to choose a brand I have never reviewed before, which took longer time to digest. Hence, I appreciate your patience and without further ado, allow me to introduce Kunert Chinchillan 20 tights.
Strengths & Weaknesses
- Elastic but somewhat loose
- Soft, cotton-like feel
- Unreinforced toe and heel
- Prone to snag but run-resistant
First look & packaging
Similar to top quality hosiery brands, Kunert Chinchillan 20 tights are carefully placed in a tri-fold cardboard and wrapped in a transparent plastic sleeve. The thin cardboard that keeps the tights in place gives a warm welcome note and dressing instruction. The size and colour and composition is printed on the sleeve.
Appearance & texture
The Chinchillan 20 are transparent tights (20 denier) in total matte fashion. The texture is very soft, elastic and has an unique cotton feel. The waistband measures approximately 3cm wide. There is also a 3cm-wide finger band featuring the Chinchillan logo. The finger band extends to both side of panty seam. The tights feature sandal toe and unreinforced heel.
The composition is 72% polyamide and 28% elastane.

Size range
Six sizes are available for Chinchillan 20 tights, which encompass height from 150cm (4’9”) to 180cm (5’9”). I have attached the size chart below. Size II 40-42 was used for this review.
Colour
There are five colours available at the time of writing this review. They are: Candy, Hasel, Black, Cashmere and Teint. I have chosen Black colour for this review.

Impression
The fit was somewhat loose. The size guide indicates that Size II 40-42M can fit a person of no more than 175cm tall. In reality, the size could fit a few centimetres more. Thanks to sufficient amount of elastane, it does not become baggy after prolonged wearing. Also worth mentioning is that the panty and the waistband is made proportionally loose, hence no constraints on the waist or hips.
Although primarily made of polyamide, the tights are very soft and natural, like wearing fine cotton.
Unreinforced toe and heel makes the tights ideal with sandals and open toe shoes. I have tried them with pumps and trainers (with socks as outer layer). There was no snag or signs of worn, which seem to be relatively durable. The tights are prone to snag however, but they are not apparent even in black colour and the tights are run-resistant.
Final words
The transparent, matte appearance together with elastic and durable properties make Chinchillan 20 tights suitable for every occasion. They are also reasonably priced at €12 a pair. The style also comes in stockings, knee-highs and “LANGE BEINE”, literally longer legs. If you are extremely tall or have disproportionally long legs (<— envying), the lange Beine could be right for you.
