I received this as a gift from Wolford several years ago, never had a chance to wear it because I was living in sub-tropical region where temperature seldom drop below 15°C. Now I am living in a much cooler place, opaque tights become a necessity.
- Seam-free body
- Loose-fit netted waistband
- Relatively comfortable and good durability
Appearance & texture
Fatal 50 Seamless has an opaque and matte appearance (50 denier). It is characterised by the seam-free body: the panty and the hose are sewn together using a special knitting method, with the result being four fine knit lines that run along the groin and the hip. One other feature is the loose-fitting, netted waistband. It is especially designed to provide adequate stretchiness that even a pregnant woman can wear. In addition, the waistband is 5.5cm wide.
The composition is 91% nylon and 9% elastane.
Above: the seam that binds the waistband together is slightly more apparent.
Being one of the basic essentials, Fatal 50 Seamless comes in every sizes available. I have included the size chart below. Size M is used in this review.
There are currently 4 shades to choose from: Mocca, Black, Nearly Black and Anthracite. I used Black in this review.

Fatal 50 Seamless are relatively comfortable to wear. If I were to rank the comfortableness among Wolford opaque ranges I have tried on so far, it will be (from the most comfortable to moderately comfortable): Comfort Cut 40 > Pure 50 > Stardust Leggings > Fatal 50 Seamless > Velvet 66 Leggings = Individual 42 (discontinued). Clearly, the more comfortable ones are the more recent arrivals that incorporate new technology. However, being one of the longstanding products, Fatal 50 Seamless is only slightly inferior in terms of comfortableness.
The reason I chose size M is because I received this before Wolford revised their size chart in 2011-12. There was a period of inconsistency, where I used to wear MEDIUM for tights (had to go LARGE for Individual 10) but SMALL for leggings. Now I simply choose SMALL for tights & leggings (unless otherwise specified by Wolford) and they fit accordingly.
The waistband sits comfortably on my 29” waist, with extra room if I overeat. However, that means it can be over-sized if you are a lot slim than me.
In addition, Fatal 50 Seamless does not get snagged as easily as Pure 50 and is very less likely to develop pilling.
Having tried Pure 50 before Fatal 50 Seamless, I see the latter being the milestone in Wolford’s seamless tights collection that is difficult to replace. While the comfortableness of Fatal 50 is sub-par to that of Pure 50 and Comfort Cut 40, it is less prone to snag & pilling, and thus better durability. However, as Wolford has been heavily promoting the Pure range, the future of Fatal 50 Seamless seems uncertain.
You can find Fatal 50 Seamless tights for £29 (€33). Also included in the range are Fatal 15 Seamless Tights and Fatal 15 Seamless Stay-Up.
